But on the flip side, an overinflated ego is an almost sure death sentence, and employers are constantly on the lookout for little signs that belie arrogance or impudence.  Do you really need to ask where your office would be? Do you really need your doctorate abbreviation in the handle of your personal email? Do you really need to go toe with the CEO during a philosophical discussion?  Even if you sense that your prospective employer is seeking a leader with lots of confidence, it never hurts to temper your big personality at certain key moments.  There will be plenty of other moments to shine out.
