In Times of Change, Redo Your Balance Sheet

For some organizations, these might be necessary roles. But be careful during this time of accelerated change… Bandwagons are everywhere, and you don’t want to jump on one unnecessarily. Instead, use this spring as an opportunity to evaluate — everything from your hiring practices and your professional development priorities to the technological fluencies of your senior administrators. Other solutions may be out there beyond adding positions to your balance sheet. If you have a dean of teaching and learning or director of instructional technology, shouldn’t that person coordinate distance learning? If not, perhaps it’s time for a 360 assessment.
