The Bay Area Teacher Training Institute (BATTI) is hiring for an executive director to start next year on July 1, 2021.  For the last two decades, BATTI has graduated nearly 500 future teachers through a two-year Master’s program, which combines immersive classroom apprenticeship with formal pedagogical training.

BATTI is a nonprofit association that was founded on the principle of public/private partnership, and it has been living out this mission through its service to independent, charter, and public schools.  Now, BATTI seeks an executive director with not only a passion and expertise for teacher development, but also a systematic and relational mindset for running and growing a coalition of K-8 schools, a university partner, as well as supervisors, instructors, mentors, employees, and students.

The Alexander Dawson School, an early childhood - grade 8 independent school in Las Vegas, NV announces the hiring of Marc Leonor as its inaugural director of co-curricular programs, to oversee the athletics, summer camp, and after school programs. Throughout his career, Mr. Leonor has been in many co-curricular leadership roles for educational and youth organizations.  He has served as site director for the Point Reyes National Seashore Association, baseball league director for the Los Angeles City Parks and Recreation Department, and sports director (and later day camp director) for Camp Sharwood in Los Angeles.  In addition, he founded a summer camp program in the Philippines, which grew from 40 students to over 500 in its most recent year.

This position reports to the director of teaching and learning.

Ms. Eckmann has a long and distinguished career as a financial leader in both the for-profit and nonprofit industries.  For fifteen years she worked at Bank of America in their CFO group, overseeing core finance functions for different business units.  From 2016 to 2020 she was CFO for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.  Ms. Eckmann has been active in Nevada as a philanthropic leader, which includes her long service within the Junior League since 2007.
